" ... " The Terps !!! ".  Wow ...  It's 1981 Spring Tour we're talking about here fellow Dead Fans - and these were the days still the ' relatively ' early days in the 30-Year Career of The Grateful Dead - where the ability to play smaller & more intimate College Campus Venues was still fair-game !  And in this rare case ... we are talking about The Grateful Dead setting up shop & doing what they do best - delivering some of the Best ! ' Live ' Rock 'n Roll !! that This-Planet ! has Ever-Seen !! ... taking it right to the People !  And ... to the U of M Student Body !!  As in this particular " MD ! " case - certainly lots & lots of way-fired-up University of Maryland College Students  - on a ( One More ! ) Saturday Night occasion - right while school was in-session ... I mean talk about One More Saturday-Night !!!  Word on the Street ( for years - years - & years ! now ... ) is that this-here 3/7/81 " Bird Song " delivered - is indeed the Very-Best ! Bird Song of All-Time !!?! - and you know ... I'm not sure that I would really disagree ?!!  I mean spin that Good Ol' Analog-Treasure ! right in the Nak !! - and how could anyone really disagree ?!  There were many ! way note-worthy versions that are right up-there on that G.D. " Top-shelf " - and this one is ' there ' for certain ... and realistically, it's possi
bly right in the ' middle ' of that row !  Front-Row-Center !!  See, you can see where this Dead Fan stands - Ha !  Played with as much Passion ! as it possibly could be - really nothing-short of Live-G.D.-Perfection !!! - Garcia !!!!!  And of course too ... the Essential !
