Grateful Dead Fans !!! - Rick Griffin Art ! Fans !! - Fans of MSG " New York Dead ! " ... and yeah - " Flaming Eyeball !! " Fans !!!  Offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the September 18, 1988 ( 9/18/88 ) Show at Madison Square Garden ! in New York City !!  This Very-Rare ! Backstage Pass features the Amazing ! " Flaming Eyeball !!! " design by the one & only ! - Rick Griffin !!  Griffin's Art Masterpieces were featured on various Grateful Dead Backstage Passes all throughout the 1980's ( from 1981 through 1989 - primarily ) - and at least to me ' Eye ' ... this-design was one of the Coolest !!  No pun intended there ... Ha !  In addition ... this Bright ! - Bold ! & Eye-Catching ! " Red / Yellow " color contrast design was only used twice-ever by the Grateful Dead - once for this Madison Square Garden Show on the 1988 Fall Tour ! - and once for the L.A. Forum Backstage Pass on the 1989 Spring Tour !  With this 9/18/1988 Pass here for MSG ! - being the " 1st " - and the Original-Issue ! ... of the " Red & Yellow " !!  Rick Griffin was a famous Bill Graham Presents Fillmore-Poster Scene Artist who did way-more than just leave his ' trademark ' style on the Grateful Dead - as he was integral in inventing-it !!  Just think ... " Aoxomoxoa " from 1969 !!  This is his crazy & hilarious " Flaming ( & Running ! ) Eyeball !! " design - a really cool take on the " Flying " and/or " Fighting " Eyeball designs.  Well it looks to me like this Running-Eyeball has just had its Ticket torn ! at the MSG turnstiles !! - and he/she is running Lightning ! quick to stake claim for a seat down-low & up-front on the " Jerry-Side !! " ... or maybe - in " The Phil Zone !!? ".  What do you say ... from the looks of this one ?  Ha ! - Classic ...  Just check it out - as this Flaming-Eyeball is sporting what looks to be Converse Chuck Taylors ! too.  Hey, you know ... gotta have Grate ! grip !!  One of the Best ! G.D. Passes here - for certain.  And as-for this 9/18/88 Show on this 9-Night MSG run ?  Whoa !!!?!  As this was-indeed the " Scarlet > Fire !!! " night ... where Set II opened with Not Fade Away > into ! > Scarlet > Fire !!?!!!  Something tells me that this Flaming Eyeball was pretty darn Stoked ! about that " Fire !! " - Ha !  Just the perfect-time to boogie in those clearly Red-Hot ! Chuck T's !!  So-Awesome ...  The Red / Yellow Rick Griffin " Flaming Eyeball !!!
