Deadheads ! from the Mid-West !!  Offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Original ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the March 3rd, 1981 ( 3/3/1981 ) Show ! at the Cleveland Music Hall - in Cleveland, Ohio ( OH ) !!! ... the now Proud-Home ! of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame !!  Of which ... you-bet ! the Grateful Dead are a proud and beyond-deserving member ... " Since 1994 !!! ".  Ha !  Wow ...  and Musically ? - it is indeed Spring Tour 1981 that we are talking about here my fellow Dead Fans - and these were still the ' relatively ' early-days in the 30-Year Career ! of The Grateful Dead ( 1965 - 1995 ) - where the ability to play smaller & more intimate ' special ' type indoor Venues was still fair-game !  And in this case ... we are talking about The Grateful Dead setting up shop & doing what they do best - delivering some of the Best ! Live Rock 'n Roll !! This-Planet has ever-seen ... & taking it right to the People ! - inside the Cleveland Music Hall in Ohio !!  And, over their 30-Years Live Touring Career - the Band played around 50-Shows in Ohio !  With, Richfield hosting the most Shows ( 13 ) - Buckeye Lake hosting the 2nd most Shows ( 5 ) - and the Cleveland Music Hall coming in 3rd ... with Four ( 4 ) Dead Shows - all between 1970 and 1981 ( 10/17/1970 - 11/20/1978 - 3/2/1981 - 3/3/1981 ) ... with this Pass ! here proudly-representing the 3/3/81 Show !!  Rick Griffin " G.D. Skull & Crossbones " Art ! on this one Fans ... in Green !  For a Show that started off Both Sets ! on the ' right ' feet - with a Feel Like A Stranger !! & China > Rider !!!  A Beautiful ! Bird Song Graced ! this Show - in '81 ' Bird Song ' musical form & fashion ... Awesome !!  And, a pretty neat thing happened late in the 1st Set too - on this 3/3/81 Cleveland Night ! ... Garcia calls a Big Railroad Blues ! ( out of L.L. Rain ) > then Bobby pulls into a high-energy - yet still pure-bluesy ' Rooster ' > and then Garcia calls for the Deal !!!  Well, you know - I guess I really wouldn't say " calls for it " is the right-word ... more-like " Tears !!! " out-of Rooster !  Whoa !?!!  Killer ! '81 Live-Dead !!  And Yeah ... then for Set II > China > Rider !!!!!  Smoke-style ! too, believe it ... and then - track it down & Listen ! to this-one - if you have yet to hear.  Oh, and I almost forgot here too ( how could I ?? ) >> China > Rider > Samson !!! - and yep ... a " Tuesday-Night " Samson & Delilah Delight !!  He's Gone into Drums / Space ( Very-Kindly ! ) into a way-impressive Sailor > Saint !  Dang, I mean I don't even know if B.K. & Mick ' could ' make fun of this-one ? ( Ha ! ) ... as it's truly ' All-Heat ' !!!  Then Black Peter ! from Jerry - and then back to Ace ! with a Kickin' ! Good Lovin' !!!  And then too ... as the Spring '81 Dead Fan Faithful clapped & got ready for their U.S. Blues like " Thank You All .. & Goodnight ! " ... it didn't Happen ! ... Because it was indeed CASEY JONES !!!!!  Hah !!  Yep, Casey J. !!! for the Encore ! - and then yeah ... That ! was all she wrote.  A pretty Huge ! Eyeball art design from 1988 !!!  Obviously one of the Coolest ! & most sought-after Grateful Dead Backstage Passes & Official Credentials overall ! from the 1980's Grateful Dead Era ... and really too - of All-Time !  This is a Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker patch / satin ) for the June 28, 1988 ( 6/28/1988 ) Show at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center ( SPAC ! ) - in Saratoga, New York ( NY ) !!!  This Pass was only issued in this eye-catching ' Multi-Colored ! ' fashion during the 1988 Grateful Dead Touring-Year ... and, only a handful of times.  Only the Kaiser ( CA ) - Worcester ( MA ) - Cap Centre ( MD ) - Shoreline ( CA ) - and this " S.P.A.C. ! " - Saratoga, New York ( NY ) ! versions come to my mind ... right off the top of my Dead Head !  And, here close to 30-years later ... they are All ! virtually-impossible to find.  As to many Fans, this really is " The ! " Grateful Dead Pass - as far as aesthetics go ... simply because it has it " All ! " ... Grateful Dead !! - Rick Griffin Art !!! - The Flaming & Running Eyeball !!!! - an Egypt '78 Pyramid ( in the background ) - Sunshine ! - and Multiple ! Colors ... which are both Bright !! & Bold !!!  And, if you had to have just one of these Venue-Dates ' Multicolor ' versions ... I mean why not go for the " New York " Saratoga - SPAC ! version !!  " Don't Hang Off The Balcony !?!! " as Bob Weir once said gracefully - at SPAC in '85 ... remember that-one ?!  Hah !  And, how can one ever ! go wrong when the " Sky Is Yellow & The Sun Was Blue !!?!!! " ... which, as the photos nicely show - is indeed the case with this Fabulous ! Grateful Dead Backstage Pass !  How totally-cool ... right ?  Right-On !!  Bucket > Bertha !!! opened-up this Show !  And then, it was time for Mr. or Ms. Eyeball here to get down to some ... Walking Blues !!  Dang, I mean in those ! Chucks ?  Gotta love that ... Ha !  A Tasty ! Row Jimmy followed soon ! ... and, a well-well played Victim > Foolish ! to close up Set I.  Then ... Ha ! ... for a " Set II " opener >>> yep, you guessed it -- Scarlet > Fire !!!  Whoa ?!?  See what I mean here ... " The Sky Was Yellow & The Sun Was Blue !!! ".  Just-exactly ! like on this Rick Griffin designed G.D. Backstage Pass !  This happened for the 9/2/88 Cap Center Show/Pass too !  So-so ... Cool !!!  Yes, I dig stuff like that.  And too ... this Scarlet > Fire was a Heater !! right out of the gate, indeed ... with Estimated > Crazy Fingers to follow.  Then, after a pretty-much mind-boggling Drums > Space ( SPAC-E ! ... Ha !! ) - it was Brent-Time !! ... with a Stellar ! delivery of ' I Will Take You Home ' - wow, so-so nice here.  Then, it was definitely time to let loose & drive it on home ... GDTRFB ! > Miracle !! > Stella ! > NFA !!!  Smokehouse-type stuff too, on the Garcia NFA Overdrive rallies !  Buckle-Up !! because ' The Boss ! ' is in town ... at " SPAC !!! ".  Heaven's Door to close this one, sweetly ... and that was all she wrote.  Until, naturally ... Rochester & Oxford Plains This-Weekend !!!  Dang, '88 .... now That ! is what I'm talking about.  We need an '88 Box Set - Chronicling the ' Emergence ' of the MIDI Era !!!  Dang right ... who's in charge here ?!  Garcia-is ! ... or, maybe the Running Eyeball is too ?!  Just a Flamin' in that ' Blue-Sun !!! '.  So ... now you can see what this Flaming / Running Eyeball was in such a hurry for here... the SPAC ! Turnstiles ( naturally ... ) on 6/28/88 !!!  Probably had a darn good seat ! too - Rockin' Converse Chuck T's like-these ... Ha !  What a G.D. Pass !!! ... and, one for a " Grate !
