Deadheads !!! ... Fans of Dayton, Ohio ! & the Classic Hara Arena !!  A Ohio Venue which the Good Ol' Grateful Dead only played ... Once ! - on the 1981 Winter Tour !!!  As offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the November 30, 1981 ( 11/30/1981 ) Show at the Hara Arena - in Dayton, Ohio ( OH ) !!!  This Tour Stop at Hara Arena in Dayton was the 2nd-Night on a short & brief ... b
ut Hot ! Grateful Dead ' Winter ' Tour in '81 - with likely the greatest importance being ... " So Boys, How-Was that ' Europe Tour ' !!?! ".  Do you catch my drift on this one ?  As there were only really around a half dozen ' immediate ' chances to hear how things were sounding for the Band in the Winter of '81 - after a fairly-sizable ( and significantly underrated ! ) " Europe '81 " Tour !  a sort of " Home at ( instead of Winterland ... ) - Pittsburgh > Hara Arena - Dayton, Ohio ! > University of Illinois > Madison, Wisconsin > Market Square in Indiana > the Rosemont Horizon in Illinois > Des Moines, IA > University of Colorado - at Boulder ! ".  Well, you know - not quite ' Home ' -- but still definitely " back-home " in the U.S.A. ... with the U.S. Dead Fans !!!  I believe the 1st taste I ever scored of this '81 mini-Tour was from the 12/5/81 Market Square Show, and ... I kind of did a bit of a double-take - because I really was short on '81 G.D. following the Europe Tour ?!?  Well, I fixed that ... Fast ! - with the Dane County ( 12/3/81 ) Show being the next - and then the 12/9/81 Boulder Show ( now known today as " Dave's Picks 20 ! " ) - then the 12/2/81 U of Illinois Show - and finally here way-deep into the ' Digital-Dead ' Era -- I have finally heard this 11/30/81 Dayton Show !!!  And, it's for real ... & Equally-Cool ! as This ! 11/30/81 Dayton Backstage Pass !! ... with the Classic ! G.D. " Dead Set " Art !!  In the '80's Soundboards from this run were indeed few & far between - as most Folks I knew at the time were circulating Audiences - and, very-nice ones at that.  Everybody seemed to want these Shows dialed - as the Band was So-Hot & Fiery !  Some of the Prime / Primary days of the " lay-it-all-out " '80's G.D. Attitude - with copious chances being taken ... Everywhere !  Another source of the popularity of this run - is that it indeed included a few " College Town Shows " & " Smaller Indoor Arena Venues " - and, if the Show wasn't actually " at " the College - there was one very-conveniently not too far away - pretty much right around the corner ! - or, you know ... Freeway !!  As us Deadheads are never-ever afraid of a little quality Drive-Time ! ... Ha !  Wow ... and just to think too - that with all of the Touring ! the Grateful Dead did over their 30-Year ! Career ! - with ... Tons ! being right-through the Grate ! State of Ohio !! --- This ! still was the Only-Show-Ever ! that the Dead ever played at " Hara Arena " ! ... 11/30/81 on the 1981 Winter Tour !!!  So ... Quite ! the Collectible G.D. Pass to have here - and, maybe even more so if you are from Ohio !!  Awesome ...  And too - most importantly ... " Musically " - the Band really-made this 11/30 Show Count !  Minglewood Blues ! opened up the Show - and then, pretty much out of nowhere ?!? >>> " Mack The Knife !!! ".  The Only-Time it was Ever ! performed Live ! - and, maybe even Played ?!? by The Grateful Dead !!!  Wow ... so yes indeed, as the Fans got a pretty Historic ! G.D. Treat ! ... by Song 2 of the Night !!  Then followed - and Amazing ! '81 through & through ... Bird Song ! > Little Red Rooster !  Very-very nice ... TLEO - Cassidy ! - Tennessee Jed - and then Let It Grow > Don't Ease Me In ! for the 1st Set closer - with Let It Grow ... Smokin' !!!  The Estimated > Eyes ! indeed stole the 2nd Set - in the pre-Drums / Space position ... but, then very-shortly after that - right out of Space ! ... The Other One !!!  And, my oh my ... is this-one Huge !!!  Phil Thunder ! & Garcia Lightning !!  Then Wharf Rat into ... Sugar Magnolia !!!  And that Fans, is all she wrote - for the Grateful Dead's Entire-Career ... at " Hara ! ".  Ha !!  Oh yeah, and before I forget too ... ( as how could I ?!? ) --- Might As Well !! for this Show's Encore !  Needless to say ... This ! was a Grate !! G.D. Night !  With this 1981 Grateful Dead unit On-Fire !!!  What a Fantastic-Show !! ... close-to 40-Years Ago ! - on the Magical ! & HOT !!! '81 G.D. Winter Tour !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!

A Rare ! Grateful Dead Show in Philly on Spring Tour '84 & not-at ' The Spectrum ' ... instead, at the " Philadelphia Civic Center !! " -- G.D. Blooming Red Roses !!!!!
Dead Fans ... and very-likely Philly ! & Mid-Atlantic Heads !!  Whoa !?!  The '84 Spring Tour run stop at The Spect ..... Nope ! -- but instead, at the Philadelphia Civic Center !!  This is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) G.D. Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the April 21, 1984 ( 4/12/84 ) Show at the Philadelphia Civic Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania !!!  The Grateful Dead are in Town in Philly ! ... and are not ?!? playing The Spectrum !?  You bet ... and, this was the Very-1st time that a G.D. Show went off at the Civic ! ... Since 1974 !!  As the Band had played the Civic only one-time, on the '74 Summer Tour Back East swing !  And, as for the storied ( & beyond ! ) History between the Grateful Dead & The Spectrum ... well, that goes back to 1968 ! -- and, this Good Ol' Grateful Dead is represented Perfectly ! on Dick's Picks #36 ... the Final Dick's Picks release !  And, from 1968 through 1995 ... the Band played over 50-Shows at The Spectrum !  Now That ! is Rock & Roll ... and, quite the music business partnership too !  50 + !!!  Pretty sweet, indeed ...  Well, but this here Pass ? - this isn't '74 that we are talking about on this '84 Spring Tour Stop ... as we are talking Garcia - Weir - B.K. - Phil - Mick ... & Brent !!  And seriously ... this whole-entire-run -- all Three ( 3 ) Shows 4/19/84 - 4/20/84 - & 4/21/84 ... were Red-Hot !!!!!  In fact, I've gotten into more conversations than I can even remember ! over the years & years, and years ! where multiple-folks have mentioned that this Philly Civic run really was " The " run of the 1984 Spring Tour !  And as for some other Folks ?  Well, as sometimes the talk of town has been that pound for pound ... this run was " The-Best " of 1984 !  Wow, and Man ... I don't know.  For years ... I always thought the 4/17/84 Niagara Falls Show was blistering ... and specifically -- ( I already hope you know what I'm gonna say here ) -- >>> The Help > Slip ! > Franklin's !!!!!  Wow ...  But, in all honesty - it took me a while ( for certain ), but there are parts, segments, rifts, time-changes that truly put this Philly Civic 4/21/84 version right ! up-there on that G.D. " Top-Shelf ".  I suppose it's 6 to 1, and a 1/2 dozen to another ... you know ?  But ... where in Niagara Falls, the Franklin's leads into Women Are Smarter ( then Eyes ) ... whereas the one in Philly on 4/21 -- Whammo ! ... Help > Slipknot ! > Franklin's > ..... Playin' !!! > China Doll !!  So, you know - strength in numbers, in the greater whole ... and in the Grate-er Good !!  They are flat-out Fiery !  And this energy really goes all the way through this 3-Show run, with of course 4/21 being the last of the three.  I think I need to use that Good Ol' terminology here - that I have always ! loved ... " Eighties Greaties are Good ! for the Nak !!! ".  They Hammer ! this run ... com-pletely.  And then, immediately following - it was 2 in New Haven - 2 in Providence - 2 at Nassau ... and then, back Out West ! - for a date with Silva Hall ! ... in Eugene !!!  And trust me, She's Really ! Pretty !!  Ha !!!  Well, some G.D. Backstage Passes are ' Extra-Special ' for all kinds of different & cool ! reasons ... and this Pass is most-Definitely ! one of them.  Blooming Roses !!!  " In & Out Of The Civic We Go !?! ".  Well, not quite-That ! ... as you can't always have Everything ! in Life.  What a Classic !!! G.D. stand.  4/21/1984 !! ... at the Philadelphia Civic Center !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
