Dead Fans !!!  Lions !!  How-Cute ! ... or ... How Killer !! - depending on how you look at it, I do suppose !  But, as for 3/24/85 Springfield, Mass.? -- Jury is Out = " Killer !!!!! ".  Just another '85 Dead " 20-Years So Far ! " Rock & Roll Live Rampage !! by the Boys !!!  Believe it ... Wow !  And, offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the March 24, 1985 ( 3/24/85 ) Dead Show at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield, Mass. !!!  This '85 Spring Tour was night-after-night doing more-than its part to prime that Music & Rock 'n Roll Machine !! -  known better as ... The Grateful Dead !!  W
ith, the best part likely being that this Touring-Year was all under that Glorious ! ' Umbrella ' of the " 20-Years So Far " 1985 Tour !!!  Tasty ! ... Tasty !! Live-Dead !!!  And ... this Pass itself is a Beauty ! indeed - as it is one of the various " Animals " Backstage Passes that were made & used throughout 1985.  And this one here !?  Wildlife in Action ! ... or actually, more like Wildlife Lounging !!  Ha !  For lack of a better way to say it ... this Rare G.D. Pass is just a Cute ! one - you know ?  Pretty much all the way around ... A Lion ! with a seriously-big Mane ... hanging out with his Lioness ! - with the little guy/gal right in toe - the Lion Cub !!  Well, maybe they are waiting for the Hunt !  And possibly, the Hunt for the Front-Row !?!! - as after all, this is 3/24/85 Springfield, Mass. we are talking about here - on the " Massive " G.D. 1985 Spring Tour !!!  Speaking for myself, my oh my ... as this is my-kind of G.D. - Rockin' !! - where the chances are takin' freely !  Dang ... just like Phil Lesh once said - they are just " Searcin' For The Sound !!! ".  Powerhouse Live-Dead ! ... with one heck of a song-rotation too on this Tour too - and all of the rest of " 20-Years-So-Far !!! ".  And, before I forget too - not only is this cute little " Lion Family " Pass in Grate ! shape - but it is also featured with such a cool color of Green ! for the Pass Background !  Ok ... Grateful Dead Fans ! ... and quite possibly those from the Good Ol' Pacific Northwest !! - or, should I say ... the " Grate ! " Northwest !!!  Always ! lots & lots of Dead Fan Faithful ! out here in this neck of the Woods !! ... and I say neck of the ' Woods ' literally !!!  Well, then again - not so much right-around the Space Needle ! - which is pretty close to where this '81 Summer Tour Grateful Dead Magic ! went down ... Yes !!!  Offered here indeed is a Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the August 14, 1981 ( 8/14/1981 ) Seattle Center Show - in Seattle, Washington ( WA ) on the 1981 Grateful Dead Summer Tour !!!  And ... quite the interesting G.D. and Rock & Roll Relic ! here for certain ... as this is one of the Very-Cool ! & Rare !! " Large " style Grateful Dead ' Dead Set ' design Passes that were used with only a very-short consistency during this 1981 Tour !  And ... as far as ' Seattle ' goes for the Dead ... they played Seattle proper & the surrounding cool areas with great relative frequency during the Mid/Late 1960's - throughout the 1970's - and even a bit in the Early '80's too - but then ... Oh No ! - a pretty-significant G.D. drought ! in the furthest north state in the Pacific Northwest !  I do think the Band frequenting Eugene probably had a lot to do with this sort of strange no-show in the 1980's ? ... but, regardless - here are the facts ... the Dead played the Seattle Center every-year from 1979 through 1983 ... but then, the Grateful Dead did not play Seattle again - until 1994 & 1995 ?!?  Wow !?!  And, Thankfully for me ... I did indeed see All-Five ( 5 ) of these Shows.  But, from 1983 all the way until 1994 - there was only one ( 1 ! ) G.D. Show in the State of Washington ... and that one was in the Tacoma Dome ( Built in '83 ! ) - on the 1988 Summer Tour !?!  So, if you've ever wondered why there is such a shortage of cool G.D. Memorabilia from the 1980's & 1990's ... well, there indeed is your answer !  And, just to think ... no Seattle-Dead Dead Tapes ! at all from 1983 Summer Tour until 1994 Summer Tour !!?!!  Ahhhh ....  So yes indeed, just a little G.D. History ! for you.  And ' Musically ' at this 8/14/81 stop - the clear ! highlight of the night was indeed ... Baby Blue !!!  Yep, that's right too ... on a Dead-night with a Baby Blue ' Fade ' Backstage Pass !  Cool ...  Yeah, so this was really the " Return " of Baby Blue - and it was the 1st time that Garcia decided to play it for the Fan Faithful ... since 1974 !?!?!  And, you guessed it too ... right in the Encore ! spot - right after a way ' High-Energy ' Miracle > GDTRFB > Johnny B. Goode Red-Hot & Smokin' !!! back set.  A kind reminder of the '81 days where Garcia would practically grit his teeth ! - in an attempt to get so much high-volume guitar tone - and resonating attack !!!  I don't know about you - but, to me personally ?  This is without any question one of the most underrated periods of Grateful Dead - not only of the '80's, but really ... of All-Time !  '81 just seems to get little-love ... and though I do understand the situation with ' releasable ' recordings - Jerry Vocal issues ( at times ) - and all of that ... I hope we are getting to the point where we are going to see some '81 pro-released G.D. Live-Action !!!  I mean every Show can't be 5/4/81 Spectrum - that I do know.  But ... Shows like this one here on 8/14/81 - just Need ! to be head by the Fans ... a Live-Clinic ! of how Rock & Roll should be played - and played properly - when you are willing to take the necessary risks & chances ... to just lay it all ! right on the line.  I mean after all - this is a Show where China > Rider !!! got delivered in the 5/6 spots right into Drums > Space !  And ... they were even born from an all-out & no holds barred Playin' In The Band !!!  Wow ... 1981 ! I say, and even in the Grate ! Pacific Northwest ... in Seattle !! -- with even the Space Needle ! boogying-down to some Good Ol' 1980's !!! Grateful Dead !! ... Enjoy !!!!!
