So-Incredibly-Awesome !!!  Offered here indeed is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the March 22, 1985 ( 3/22/1985 ) Show at the Spaceship ! ... even sometimes-known as the Death Star !! ... or, when The Grateful Dead are in town ... the " Dance Star " !!! - Ha ! ... the Good Ol' Hampton Coliseum !! - in Hampton, Virginia !!!  A Big-Time ! Mid-Atlantic ! meets The South ! G.D. Hot Spot, with this Show being smack-dab in the Mid-'80's !!!  Yum ...  Well, as with most all of the " Vintage-Car / Auto " Grateful Dead Backstage Passes ( used in 1984 - 1985 ) ... here's one for the True-Lover of Vintage Auto !  As this just isn't any Car - Truck - or Hot Rod here ... as we are talking about a 1930's Vintage " Milk " Delivery Truck !  How clever ... and how cool !  A " Pure " Milk Truck, done here for the Dead.  Slogan & All !  On the back of the truck it reads " Be Sure With Pure " !!!  So yeah ... better drink your Ovaltine ... oops, wrong decade - as I meant your " Pure " !!!  And the very best part - at least to my eye, is take a close, close - Close ! look at that front license plate ... as it reads ' DEAD ' !!!!!  Better drink some Dead ! for your Head !!  Yeah ... '85 Spring Tour !!  Let's just call it ... " Twenty Years So Far !!! ".  The Time & Era where Garcia comfortably ( with ease ! ) slates himself right up there with who ?  What do you think ?  Page - Hendrix - Iommi ... McLaughlin ?  The point I'm making here is real-simple ... the Meanest-of-Meanest ! on fret board Attack ! all-throughout out this ' Gateway ' of this Magical ! guitar, speed & distortion-heavy period.  The Boss using the Boss !!!  To get just a little technical ... tongue-in-cheek, right ?  Ha !!  So yeah, no better time in the World ! to Drink-Your-Milk !!  And as they say, supposedly it'll make your bones-strong ... so go on & shake'em - 3/22/85 in Hampton !!  At the Hampton Coliseum !!!  Dang ... I listened to these Tapes ! just not too long ago, as I'm ( real ! ) fortunate enough to actually have the have Cassette Masters from the Mixing-Board ! ... and my-Oh-my - do they Bring-it !  You, get a little slop here & there which is only really a good thing - as it lightly brings you down to Earth from darn near close to Mid-'80's Perfection !  Seriously ...  This one is a Burner !!!  Stranger - C.C. Rider ! - Cassidy - Big Railroad Blues - and Esau ! take the Cake on the 1st Set.  But then ... Whoa !?!!  That Set II - Love it !  Scarlet > Bucket !!!!!! to open the Set !  So hot.  Ace just Steers it ! - then Garcia's on Board !!!  Blammmmo !  Then - oh man ... out of Space ?  You've got a silky-smooth Spanish Jam that eases its way out of Space ! > then Truckin' ( power-style ! ) > then ... the Smokestack ! - and Wow are we talking Smokestack-Lightning !  Even Lightning Hopkins himself, might tip his cap to Ace in that Pink Izod !  Go Bobby !!  And then this ... into a tight Black Peter ( tight in a good way - Solo !! ) > Sugar Magnolia !  Ace was hot on this one, and Garcia kept on lobbing him softballs to just Crush !  This is my kind of G.D. !!!!  Baby Blue Encore, and that is all she wrote.  Mean-Night ! for the Boys ... and a nice-bright " Yellow ! " Backstage Pass here too.  Wow, don't they always look fine in Yeller ??!  Ha !  Hey, they All look fine ... indeed,  Love it ... Enjoy this Classic ! Vintage-Auto Pass, of G.D. Grand ! past ... Grateful Dead Backstage Pass : 1985 : Summer Tour '85 ! : " Complete Pair !! " : June 30, 1985 ( 6/30/1985 ) & July 1, 1985 ( 7/1/1985 ) - Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia, Maryland ( MD ) !! : 1985 Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ( GDP ) - Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) : ' Out-Of-This-Universe !!! ' ... 1985 Summer Tour !! - Live-Dead !!!!!
Both !! of the 1985 Summer Tour Grateful Dead Passes together ! from the Monumental !! & Intergalactic !!! 6/30/85 & 7/1/85 Merriweather Post Pavilion Shows !! - in Maryland !!! ... on the Grateful Dead " Twenty Years So Far !!! " '85 Summer Tour !!!!!
Holy Grateful Dead .....  Well fellow Fans, you are either ' with ' me on this trip regarding these two Golden ! '85 Summer Tour Shows ... or, you're not - but either way, I can completely understand - as in this most-delicious lifelong sport known as the music of the Grateful Dead.  Sometimes it can be dangerous ... and it can take you places that you never thought you would ever be -- and in some cases, like the experience of 6/30/85 & 7/1/85 ... there is really no ' way ' back - and most-definitely, no road map provided to find your way home !  You're stuck in bliss - and it goes on & on.  Wow .....  I'll try here indeed, but the question I really find myself asking here really is ... " How can a Human Being even Attempt !?! to describe what the Grateful Dead did to M.P.P. on June 30th & July 1st, 1985 ?!? ".  If " 20 Years So Far " was the ' right ' recipe for perfection, then I suppose these two days must have fallen into some calandar-like abyss of the heavenly.  I guess the best way I can say it is this ... is there is a way to play Rock & Roll to absolute perfection, then that is what the Band tapped into here in Maryland on the 1985 Summer Tour.  This Fans, at least to my ear ... it is simply how you play Rock 'n Roll.  I figured that I have probably listened to both of these Shows in the 250-300 + time ballpark ... and, there is not a single thing that I would want to change about any of it.  This is how you Deliver !!! Live to the people when you plug in.  If electricity is a commodity, then it is factual that the Grateful Dead did not waste even the smallest of small slivers ... as they completely Destroyed ! the Merriweather Post Pavillion on 6/30 & 7/1, 1985.  I've heard all the arguments over the years about the periods & eras of Grateful Dead - and yes, of course I do love them all ... '68-'69 ... '70 ... '73-'74 ... '75 ... '76-'77 ... '79-'90 ... etc., etc., etc.  And, though I well know that there is Live Glory & Magic Everywhere ! ... still, there is nothing just quite like 6/30/85.  I have probably owned 15-20 versions / recordings of these Shows, 10th gens. - 3rd gens. - 2nd gens. - 1st gens. - Mixing Board Masters - Clones - Main-Console Masters - you name it, and that's just with analog.  And, who knows how many " try this one " digi-copies ... dat-transfers - beta s!! - f.o.b. auds, it goes on & on ... but, like 2 or 3 years ago -- I finally ! after decades got what I believe to be " The " tapes of 6/30 ( TDK MA-90 Metal Alloy Cassette Masters ! from the Soundboard !! ) and it just further-secured my belief in this Landmark ! G.D. live-delivery.  And sure ... there's some slop, Jerry's at-times grainy voice, etc. - I've heard all the naysayers sides of this ' conversation ' ... but --- what Garcia does to his 6-string is beyond up there at the all-time top.  I can guarantee ! you that the only performance that even comes close to this all-time at M.P.P. was delivered by Jimi Hendrix himself - at M.P.P. in the Summer of '68.  Garcia basically defines the definition of the technical, attack, guts, lead, reckless vigor, fierce, and last but not least ... and arguably the most important .. .. .. Tone !!!!!!!!  This is a flat-out Electric Guitar Clinic! at times throughout, where he is basically instructing everyone in the M.P.P. Pavillion how exactly to deliver rock & roll though a Fender Silver Twin > Mac > Boss OD-1 > Boss HM-2 ! > Right In Your Face !!!  But the thing is, nobody - and I mean absolutely-nobody can copy or repeat this brand of magic ... just-like this magic.  This music & tone!!! gets freed into the Stratosphere, and no matter what they tell you ... you can never truly quite capture " Pure " Lightning In a Bottle.  Kind of like reaching for the Gold Ring ... you know ?  I will even go as far as saying that 6/30/85 as a whole might be one of the greatest concerts that was ever played live, and that ever will be played live.  The Rottweiler on this Pass looks kind of cute & all ... but you know what - it's not possible ... he must ! be Mean !!!!! to earn His way on to this Pass.  This is an Other One indeed not - for the faint-hearted.  Clearly some of the most-important Backstage Passes in the History of Rock & Roll !!!  And or course, that of the Grateful Dead too.  Jer~ry Gar~cia !!!!!  Enjoy ..... Wow .. .. ..
