ll Dead Fans are mostly on the same-page in regard to the sheer Importance ! of the 1975 " Blues For Allah " Album.  This was the Grateful Dead's " Comeback " after all, following a group hiatus - which nearly led to a complete dis-banding !  Oh my, what would we all have done throughout the Late 70's & 1980's ?!?  Well, thankfully that was not the case - however, as Grateful Dead " images " go - it is tough to beat this one : " Blues For Allah " - is right up there with " Steal Your Face ! " & " Bertha " Skeleton & Roses !   However, those were invented during the arguable " Golden Era " of the Band, while this image on the other hand represented " Magnificent ! ' Change ' & Transformation " for The Grateful Dead !  I can only imagine some of the fan-reactions when they first heard their " Allah " Album - wow !  And especially being there to see it performed " Live " during those so very few & precious 1975 chances !!  The funny thing is, probably just about the exact same thing happened a couple years later when they also heard " Terrapin Station " !?!  These were interesting times indeed, and in my opinion this is the quintessential image from this way-beyond exciting time for the Grateful Dead.  And as for this Shirt itself ?  This is a Shirt made by Grateful Dead Productions 1987 !  You bet Dead Fans ... this one now clocks-in at over 35-Years old !?!  Where-does the Time-Go ?!  A true '80's-Vintage time-capsule treasure here, representing the one & only ... Blues For Allah !  And " Grateful Dead " on the back, rightfully ! ... just plain, black & to the point.  This Amazing ! Grateful Dead Shirt just about says it all ... straight from the '80's, with the classic Screen Stars tag too - in Size Large !  Thank You Philip Garris for giving all the Deadhead Faithful a Beyond-Legendary ! art design.  And of course, hey G.D. ! ... Grateful Dead Fans !!!  And, for that matter - all Fans of the Delightful Rock Art Masterpieces of Philip Garris too ! ... and, of course - All ! lovers of the Electric Guitar !!  Wow ... The year was 1994,  the 2nd to last ever Touring-Year of the Grateful Dead - and the Rock Art & G.D. Art Master ! ... Philip Garris delivered this !!?!  Whoa !  Without any question at all - one of the Finest ! Rock Artifacts & T-Shirt ! Rock Artifacts from the 1990's Grateful Dead Era !  And, really ... this one truly stands the test of time any ! Grateful Dead Era.  I mean I'm not sure it's even possible to make a T-Shirt any cooler than this ... paying respect to the U.S.A. - Uncle Sam Skeleton in his Top Hat - Red Roses all around ... with this Uncle Sam Skeleton's " Axe " of choice being a Red ! Doug Irwin body style & head stock Electric Guitar !!!  One of the best-ever, at least in my opinion - though I don't think that I'm alone ... on this emotion.  I assume you are Well ! familiar with the 1974 Philip Garris G.D. Rock art Masterpiece " The Fiddler " - as it was selected for the Cover Art of the 1975 Grateful Dead " Come-Back / Return " Album release ... Blues For Allah !!!  Garris created " The Fiddler" design in 1974, and it was used immediately by the Grateful Dead in 1975 - and, not just on the Album ... as it was used on T-Shirts !, and all kinds of other assorted G.D. merchandise as well.  So ... turn the clock forward 20-Years ... and Garris delivers this one !!! In the Grateful Dead Touring-Year of 1994 !  So, my assumption is that this was an Art movement to commemorate the Legendary ! '75 Fiddler design - as in this period, Garris actually delivered three ( 3 ) designs ... a re-issue of the 1974/75 " The Fiddler ", another new design " Bertha & The Golden Bear " ( 1995 )... and, This-Beauty ! of a design ( 1994 ) ... a USA Top Hat Uncle Sam Skeleton & Roses - Playing a Doug Irwin style Electric Guitar !!!  So yes, 20-Years later - and Philip Garris is still ! delivering Rock Art of Legendary ! status ... for the Good Ol' Grateful Dead !!!  I mean hey, at the end of 1994 & 1995 for the Grateful Dead - times became a little bit difficult ... but, as I'll distinctly never-ever forget at the time - there were ' fresh ' Art designs coming out at this magnitude & importance for the Grateful Dead.  And, I just knew ! that these were still indeed very-special times ... for the Band, for the Artists, and for the loyal Dead Fans !  And, here we are now close to 30-Years ! after the fact, and ... my goodness - I was right.  In my personal opinion, this '94 Garris design here - stands right up there at the Top !  I believe this '94 Shirt was only issued on a Black Shirt, and on this way-cool Dead Red ! ... providing, as the photos very-well show - a nothing short of Stellar ! background & contrast for this Amazing ! Garris / G.D. design.  One of the Rarest ! ... and, without question - One of the Best !!!  Enjoy !!!!!
