" October 31, 1983 ( 10/30/83 ) Show at the Marin County Veterans Auditorium ( M.C.V.A. ! ) in San Rafael, California !!!  Wow ... & Truly ! one of the ' All-Time ' Most-Classic ! Grateful Dead Ticket designs Ever ! ... " Bertha !! " Skull & Roses Art ( by Stanley Mouse & Alton Kelley ) - on a " Halloween !! " Colored " Orange ! " Dead Ticket !  This 10/31/1983 Ticket is for the " Halloween !!! " Show of this Impressive ! 1983 Fall Tour 2-Night G.D. stand at the Good Ol' M.C.V.A. !!  And ( Wow !?! ) as-for this short, but So-Sweet ! 2-Show G.D. stand right in Marin County ! inside the " MCVA ! " ... the musical-caliber of this '83 Fall Tour - both period & era just has-to-be one of the ' most-overlooked ' tried & true " Hot-Periods ! " of that Good Ol' " Early-'80's ! " Grateful Dead !!  This was a pretty-special ' event ' all in itself too - as far as the Band even being able to play the tiny & " Acoustically-Amazing ! " MCVA !  As really ... ' Both !! ' of these 10/30/84 & 10/31/84 ( " Halloween Night ! " ) Shows were nothing-short of " Red-Hot ! ".  And, if you have yet to hear this Halloween '83 Dead-Run - you should most-definitely pick up these ' Tapes ! ' - Ha ! ( as I ' always-love ' saying " Tapes !! " ).  This little 2-Show MCVA run was chocked-full of Fall Tour '83 Live-Dead " Magic ! " - right in Marin Co. proper !  The Boys were on a Mission ! here for most-certain, and were pretty much non-stop in delivering the Fire !! ... ' Pure-Heat ! ' Everywhere !!! - with a few nice little ( or, kind of even " Huge ! " ) Halloween-Surprises ! - like say ... on Night-1 ( 10/30/83 ) there was a ' heated ' Bucket > Might As Well to close Set I ... and a Bertha > Samson ! to ' open ' Set II ! - also with a ' noteworthy ' Playin' - in addition to a Rad ! Spoonful straight out of Truckin' !!  And then ... it's All " Happy-Halloween Marin-County !!! " - with a knock-out Wang Dang Doodle ! ( yep, all-night-long ... ) to ' open ' This-Show ... then smacked ' tightly ' right-into Brother Esau !!  The Rooster ! was real-mean.  And a high-energy & Hot ! Sailor > Saint > Deal ! wrapped-up Set I ( yeah ... as that was ' just ' Set I ?!? ).  And then ... Talk-About a " Happy !!! " Halloween !?! ... as does it really get any " Hotter ! " than this in '83 ??! >>> Help > Slip > Franklin's !! ... Estimated > Eyes ! ... Drums > Space > St. Stephen !!! > Throwin' > NFA !! ... with a " Revolution !! " Encore !  Holy Grateful Dead !?! ... and Holy " Happy-Halloween !!! ".  And too, not to even mention ... that This ! was-indeed the " Last & Final " St. Stephen " Ever-Played ! " by The Grateful Dead !! - darn-near close to what ? ... 40-Years-Ago ? here today ?  Straight-up ... " Smokin' !!! ".  Straight ! from that oh-so-special Early > Mid '80's G.D. " Hot-Zone !!!!! ".  With " Bertha ! " Herself even on This-Ticket ! - Stirrin' up her own Special-Batch of that ' Grateful ! ' Halloween Witches Stew !!  And too ... This Ticket ! was actually the Very-First ( 1st ! ) " Debut " of a " G.D. Logoed " ( " Fancy-Ticket ! " ) for a ' Halloween-Show ' by Grateful Dead Ticket Services ( GDTS ) in the ' Mailorder ' Ticket-Design Form !  And, not to mention as well ... This ! was also actually the " 1st ! " Grateful Dead " Halloween-Show !! " ( period ) ... since the Radio City Music Hall run of Shows in New York City - in 1980 !  So yeah ... without ' any ' question - a True-Piece ! of Grateful Dead " Halloween !!
