( GDP / GDTS ) - Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) : GDTS ' Mailorder ' Ticket ! : ' Unused ' G.D. Ticket !! : Very-Rare !!!The ' Opening-Show ' Ticket ! for the Triumphant ! 1994 ' Last & Final ' Stand of The Grateful Dead ! in Eugene !! at the University of Oregon's Mighty Autzen Stadium !!! - the Very-Proud ! Home of the Oregon Fighting Ducks !!!!!
Grateful Dead Fans ! & " Dead-icated " Grateful Ducks !! Everywhere !!! Offered here is a Rare & Incredibly-Awesome ! Vintage - Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Ticket ! for the Grateful Dead / Oregon Ducks Fan !!! I know I've met quite a few of these Fans in my days ... but, oh-wait ?! That's right ... I am one ! I guess the only question is then ... which do I like better ? Ahhh ... Oh-No ! & No-Way !! as I could never-ever go there ... I mean after all Fans - '94 is a year where not only ! did the Grateful Dead deliver 3 Summer Tour Shows !! in Mighty Autzen Stadium ... but Kenny Wheaton also delivered " The Pick " !!! '94 Forever ! ... I say ! So yes indeed Fans ... as offered here is the 6/17/94 " Opening-Show " Ticket for the Glorious ! 3-Show G.D. stand ... at Mighty Autzen ! The Band played their Last & Final U of O and Eugene stand on June 17th, 18th & 19th, 1994 ... and this Ticket is from the 1st Show ! Well-known to many Fans who were there as " The Rain Show ! ". And yes, even though as we already know that " It Never Rains In Autzen Stadium " - well... on this " Eugene-Dead-Day " it must have been an anomaly - as it rained Good ! ... or " Grate ! " - and the Band gladly reflected it in the Set list ! Ha ! ... Bertha ! - Rain ! - Samba In the Rain ! And
... as for the " Importance " of these Eugene Shows ? Whoa !?! As I don't really even really know where to start ?? Well ... let's just put it this way 1st - this is the " Last & Final " Grateful Dead run of Shows at both ! the University of Oregon !! - and in Eugene !!! In yes, the land of Ken Kesey & Friends - who even taught a Creative Writing Class at ! the U of O - just shortly before this time. In fact, these were almost ! the very-last Grateful Dead Shows in the entire Grate-State ! of Oregon - if it wasn't for a 2-Show run in Portland at Portland Meadows in May of 1995. So ... in effect - this was truly the Grateful Dead's ' unofficial ' Goodbye ! to both !! the U of O ! & Eugene !! But, because of the way things ended up working out ... not a single Band Member - G.D. Family Member - or Dead Fan ! ever knew it at the actual time - in June of '94. So Yes !!! Arguably the very-best way to say ' Goodbye-Forever ' indeed ... when nobody even knows it at the time - and the focus can just be Grate-Times ! - Rock & Roll !! - even some ... Sunshine ! in Mighty Autzen Stadium !! - and of course, naturally ... some Good Ol' Grateful Dead !!! 3-Shows worth ! - and 3 Solid !! Shows worth, at that. I saw all-three myself & sat right in the front row for ' This-One ! ' - 6/17/94 - ( right in between Garcia ! & Weir ! ) - and, to this day it is still ! quite hard to pick a ' Favorite '. And ... it is also very-important to note that the Grateful Dead were actually ' Banned ' from playing the University of Oregon Autzen Stadium - right after the 1990 Shows they played. And ' Why ? ' you might ask ? Well, you know ... numerous troubles with fan behavior, etc. - etc. - etc. ... blah - blah - blah ... - until >>> ( Hah !!! ) >>> Jerry Garcia Himself ! took care of this little ( Big ! ) problem all on his very-own ... and almost by simply & so-fortunate coincidence ! Just a Simple Twist Of Fate ! - if I may. Like when all of the Planets & Stars align - sort of like during a Smoldering Drums > Space !! Ha ! So yes indeed ... Jerry ran into Dan Williams ( U of President, at the time ) in Hawaii where Dan was vacationing - and so was Garcia ... as he was Scuba-Diving ! ( I mean what are the chances of this ?!? - Truly-Amazing !!! ). Then Dan spotted him down there - and Dan's Wife thought it would be pretty-cool to introduce himself to Jerry - and ask for a photo of them together. So, Dan asked Jerry & Jerry obliged - naturally, but - with only one very small stipulation ... " Why don't you let us come back to play in Eugene - because we really love playing there ?! ". Well Folks, that was indeed all she wrote & Dan Williams Delivered ! on his handshake-promise to Garcia !!! - as 8/21/1993 & 8/22/1993 were officially-booked just shortly thereafter - and then the rest was all G.D. / Duck U. History ! in August 1993 !! And, then-again Amazingly ! ... a Last & Final 3-night stand at " Mighty Autzen ! " on the 1994 Summer Tour !! was allowed - yet once again !!! Five ( 5 ) !!!!! More 1993 / 1994 Grateful Dead Shows at the U of O !!! Duck U'r Face !!!!! Enjoy this very-fine piece of Grateful Dead ! - Oregon ! - U of O - ! and Eugene ! Rock 'n Roll History !! Memorabilia !!! Indeed " The-Last-Time! " for the Good Ol' Grateful Dead ... in Eugene ! The Finest ! of G.D. & U of O Memories !! to Forever~Savor !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!

The Dead played Madison Square Garden some 52 times. And, for our Dead of the Day, we check out their night there on the 5th of September back in 1979. Mississippi Half-Step crashes over thunderous applause from the crowd, providing a wondrous opening to the show. The band jams through the song with Brent’s computer-sounding keys providing a nice juxtaposition to Jerry’s soaring guitar. Then, the boys transition into Franklin’s, upping the ante even more as Jerry scorches off while Brent’s keys keep the jam a little more grounded, providing a tension in the playing that is deeply satisfying. The Mama Tried that rolls out next is a bit perfunctory, but it segues into a fun little Mexicali, which Phil almost pushes into a polka with some awesome bass lines. Peggy-O then rises majestically, going on to a silky flight. Cassidy is much the same, lusciously moving through some contained, bright jams. A great Loser and flighty Promised Land take the first set into the break. Then, a heady Scarlet, replete with serious jamming, takes it out of the break and into Fire On The Mountain. The Fire builds on the Scarlet as Jerry leads the way with heavy licks and purposeful exploration while the drummers lay in an incredible beat. Estimated keeps it going with that rich and sonorous wah-wah sound from Jerry and great accompaniment by Brent and Bobby. As you would expect, a sumptuous version of Eyes Of The World rolls out next, taking it into Drums and Space. Post-Space does not quite live up to the fireworks in the early portion, but it is still delightful.
