    Grateful Dead Backstage Pass : 1985 : G.D. Animals Pass ! ... " The Tiger !!! " : Fall Tour '85 ! : " Twenty Years So Far ! " Tour !! : September 3, 1985 ( 9/3/85 : 9/3/1985 ) - Starlight Theater - Kansas City, Missouri ( MO ) : 1985 Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ( GDP ) - Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) : Very-Rare !!!
    Tiger !!! just relaxing in the Tall Grass ! & Roaring !! on a G.D. Pass !!! - the " 20 Years So Far ! " 1985 Summer Tour ! stop in Kansas City !!!  One of the Coolest ! G.D. ' Animals ' Pass Designs !!!
Wow !!!  Dead Fans ... who know their Backstage Passes - well, here indeed is the " Tiger !!! ".  This is the Vintage-Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass for the September 3, 1985 ( 9/3/1985 ) Show at the Starlight Theater ! in Kansas City, Missouri ( MO ) !!  And ... out of all of the ' Animals Passes ' used in '85 - for me personally - This ! is indeed the one that I am most-partial too.  In fact, here at this time in the Fall of '85 ... the Chinese New Year " Year Of The Tiger ! " is around the corner in '86 - and maybe this Tiger here knows this ... because he is Definitely ! looking pretty-darn confident !  Either that, or maybe - " I'm sleeping here, so leave me alone ! " ... Ha !  Or, maybe it's because he has caught word that Garcia's Solos ! & Fret Board Attack !! - on that other " Tiger !!! " here at this 9/3/85 Kansas City night were going to be even Nastier !! than him !  HA !  And seriously - if you ' know ' this Show ... it is No-Joke !!  The Boys are " On " !!!  I own metal alloy cassette masters of this Show ! - and I can easily say that this night is a " Top-Shelf ! " in the Fall '85 conversation !  That ! is how much Red-Hot-Action ! went on during the 1985 " 20-Years So Far ! " G.D. Tour !!  With this Show being the 7th to last on this West Coast Tour leg !  Only one-night here in K.C. - as the next stop was at Red Rocks - where the Band delivered 3-straight - and these too ( like this Missouri Show ) are ones that you are likely familiar with - and ... especially 9/7/85 ! - being of course ... the Very-1st ' Dear Mr. Fantasy > Hey Jude ' !!!  And, as for here on 9/3 ? - well, they came out of the gate Guns-Blazing ! with a Dead Sync !! dialed ' Stranger ' which - with a one-night-stand like this one ... is All ! the Cooler !! - so yeah ... let's hear it for the Sound Crew !  Right on ...  And then, things remained even tempo & enjoyable for certain - but, minus the Real-Heat.  But then, when Garcia just Spiked ! the Big RxR Blues ! ... you kinda got the feeling that thing are headed where you might hope !  And that indeed, was followed by a Cookin' Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease !  Then ... better brace yourself and/or run for cover - because there is No ! running from This ! " Tiger " - and as you can assume ... as I am talking about the one strapped around Garcia's neck !!!  I mean just check this stuff out - and if you still ! haven't heard this Fall '85 Magic ??! then what are you waiting for !?!  Killllller ...  Set II : Cryptical > Other One > Cryptical > Eyes > Don't Need Love > Drums > Space > Nobody's Fault ! ( 1st one since the Huge ! one at the Spectrum in '81 !!! ) > Truckin' > Smokestack Lightning > Comes A Time > Lovelight  Encore : Baby Blue  See what I'm saying here - my ( hopefully ! ) " 1985 !! " Grateful Dead Fans - I mean they got After ! it ... Big-Time !!!  In fact, and kinda sadly - this too was the very last time they ever performed Cryptical Envelopment.  Jer struggled a bit with the high-vocal range - and I'm assuming that he was probably like ... Ahhh - we should just scrap that-one.  Understood, but - at the same time ... there is no singing during the transitional/change-tempo jamming !!!?!  Ha !  Well, from here it was to Red Rocks - Oakland at the Kaiser - then to Chula Vista - and that was all She Wrote ! ... for Fall Tour '85 !  Just put This-One ! in the G.D. History !! Books - and use a bright high-lighter too !!!  So, one other thing ... personally - I am so incredibly partial to this " Tiger " Backstage Pass design - as it was indeed the Very-1st one that I ever held in my hand & owned !  Pretty cool, right ?  It wasn't this 9/3/85 version - but was instead the Black ( no date ) version - and I will have that G.D. Beauty ! the rest of my Life ! - on this Planet.  But, I do know that Folks generally do like ' Dates ' on their G.D. Passes - and this one just doesn't have any-old-date - and a Roaring-Tiger ! to boot ... but, the date is 9/3/85 !!!  And to lots of dead Fans ! - this-date speaks Loud !! & Clear !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
